Conventional Braces

Traditional braces are the most common appliance orthodontics used to correct alignment issues. For some, they are a welcomed rite of passage, bringing the hope of a better smile before high school. For others, it means covering confident smiles until they come off.

Because they are getting smaller and more efficient, you may have more choices than you think. Your orthodontist will review the different types of available brackets (braces) and recommend the most effective and comfortable option for you.

Brackets are usually bonded to each tooth with an orthodontic adhesive. Molar brackets are sometimes bonded to the tooth and sometimes attached to a band which is fitted to the specific anatomy of the tooth. The brackets (braces) are connected to each other by an arch wire held in place by "O" rings (available in a variety of colors) or spring clips.

Clear Braces

If braces is the best option for your alignment needs, consider clear braces. Their patented sapphire material makes them the only crystal clear braces available. They're not only discreet, they're virtually invisible. They take the attention from your teeth and back on what is important: you. Plus, they won't stain or discolor over time, so you'll look great throughout your treatment.

With clear braces, you'll enjoy the uncompromising results that only real braces can deliver - with the aesthetics you demand. If comfort is your concern, clear braces are made with a patented smoothing process for maximum comfort. That's just another reason why 96% of patients recently surveyed chose clear braces over other aesthetic braces.

Incognito™ Braces

Incognito™ hidden braces is one of the latest advances in orthodontic options. There is no one size fits all. Hidden behind your teeth, these braces are custom made to fit only you. Smile confidently your entire way through treatment one will know you're wearing braces (unless you tell them, of course).

Incognito™ hidden braces utilize digital technology to engineer brackets and wires to deliver a precise, targeted result.
With over 100,00 cases treated worldwide, chances are you've seen someone wearing them, and you didn't even know it!

Getting Started
The process begins with the doctor taking a precise impression of your teeth, and sending it to the 3M lab. Based on your doctor's prescription, models of your mouth are made to represent the desired result: your perfect smile. Depending on your doctor's instructions, the wires are robotically bent. Everything is shipped off to your doctor so you can get your braces.

We know what you're thinking....will I be able to talk?
There will be an adjustment period with these braces because they rest near your tongue. Most people find that within two weeks, they forget the braces are there and speak just as they did before getting braces.

Are they comfortable?
Since the brackets are custom-made to fit your teeth snugly, people who wear Incognito Hidden Braces find them extremely comfortable after they adjust to them. The brackets are smooth and have a low profile, meaning they sit very close to your teeth.

Can I keep them clean?
An easy place to start is with an electric toothbrush. Flossing must not be forgotten! Many patients find water-based toothpicks work well and keep the mouth feeling fresh throughout treatment, especially on the tongue and around each bracket.

Invisalign™ Aligners

Invisalign™ has been seen as the ultimate in covert smile alignment since they were introduced. You want straighter teeth but don't want to wear braces? Now you can get want you want.

Invisalign's clear aligners are virtually invisible. That means you can always feel confident showing your smile, even while you're wearing your aligners to straighten your teeth. Put on new aligners about every two weeks, and your teeth will move little by little. After about a year on average, your new smile will emerge. The best part is that Invisalign can work without anyone else knowing.

Since your aligners are custom made for you, they're comfortable to wear. You can also take off your aligners whenever you want, so there's no worry when you play sports or an instrument or horse around with your friends. Just as important, you can eat all your favorite foods and brush and floss without a problem. Put the aligners back on when you're done, and you're good to go.

Who's eligible for Invisalign?
Invisalign is appropriate for patients with erupted second or 12-year molars, which includes most teens. Ask us to see if your treatment can begin now, or if you might need to wait a little longer.

Does Invisalign really work?
Yes. In orthodontic and dental practices worldwide, Invisalign has been effective at straightening teeth for teens and adults. Nine out of ten surveyed patients have expressed high satisfaction with their Invisalign experience.
